The City Council closes 2017 with budget surplus of 26.24 million euros (18/05/2018)

The Governing Board has approved the consolidated liquidation of the City of Murcia corresponding to 2017, which meets all the commitments established in the current financial economic plan, budget stability, spending rule, debt and average payment period.

Long-term financial debt stands at 44% of current income.

In this way, the settlement offers a surplus of 26.24 million euros, which is the result obtained from the difference between income and non-financial expenses and indicates that the City Council has financing capacity, that is, that it is in a stable situation. budgetary

On the other hand, the Corporation continues with the purpose of debugging debit balances of closed years, in order for the accounts to reflect the real image of the City Council's assets.

This procedure has led to a decrease in the amount of outstanding rights for closed years of more than 2.3 million euros with respect to 2016.

Likewise, the City Council has opted to apply a more restrictive criterion than the Law on Local Taxes in calculating the provision of insolvencies, which has had a direct impact on the calculation of the Treasury Remainder, which yields a balance of 0.53 million euros. euros

The consolidated budget result of the City Council, which gives information on the management of income and expenses in the year, has resulted in a balance of 28.48 million euros.

This amount is part of the budget settlement, and compares all the income settled in the year with all expenses, applying adjustments for positive and negative financing deviations that result from the execution of expenses with affected financing.
