An innovative show of lights, music and theater will show the secrets of the San Esteban site on Saturday (17/05/2018)

At 9.30 and 10.30 pm, Murcia and visitors can learn about the history of Murcia and Arrabal de la Arrixaca through projections on the site itself and a nearby facade in which a giant screen of 600 square meters will be created.

For the realization of this new show it will be necessary to place 5 towers of six meters high, 40 moving heads, 30 LED spotlights and two projectors of 20,000 lumens each

Next Saturday, May 19, and on the occasion of the Night of the Museums and coinciding with the celebration of the 752 anniversary of the creation of the Council of Murcia, the site of San Esteban will host an innovative show that will show all its secrets.

Thus, at 9.30 and 10.30 pm, the site will host a novel audiovisual and theatrical show in which the history of Murcia and the archaeological remains of the urban network of Arrabal de la Arrixaca will be explained.

In this way, the main streets and buildings that make up the site will be highlighted with a projection of lights, thus becoming a didactic spectacle in which the history of Murcia will be discussed from its foundation by Abderramán II with prominent figures from Murcia medieval like the Wolf King or Alfonso X the Wise

A father and a daughter of the contemporary era will take a walk through the San Esteban site, making a didactic story, for all ages and audiences, in which the historical context will be explained, where the suburb of the Arrixaca was located with respect to the rest of elements of the medina, and what elements make up the deposit of San Esteban (houses, oratory, cemetery, mansions, inn ...)

All this story will be accompanied by the music of the Túa group, which will interpret live medieval songs and songs and a show of projections, for which it will be necessary to turn off the lights of the surroundings and the adjacent streets, both in the site itself and in the facade of a nearby building creating a 600 square meter giant screen where explanatory videos will be screened.

All this will be possible thanks to the placement of 5 towers of six meters high, 40 moving heads, 30 LED colored spotlights, and two projectors of 20,000 lumens each.

For the performance of this show it will be necessary to cut traffic Jerónimo de Roda and Portillo de San Antonio between 21:00 and 23:00.
