Murcia celebrates Internet Day next weekend with new activities in the Plaza Circular (16/05/2018)

The Department of Modernization of the Administration and Urban Development, in collaboration with the University of Murcia, the College of Computer Engineers, the College of Technical Engineers in Computing, the General Directorate of Information Technology of the CARM and the UCAM, has organized a complete and a novel program of activities to celebrate Internet Day.

Councilman José Guillén explained that "in this way, children, youth and adults can know the relevance and importance of new technologies now and how different advances in this matter are changing society"

Murcia can participate in this initiative on Saturday, May 19, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday, November 20, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., by carrying out different activities related to the latest technologies.

During both days attendees can program a robot and make it evolve, immerse themselves in the world of virtual reality with 3D glasses, fly a drone, interact with Artificial Intelligence (AI) and play Holfraine, winner of the Best Online Game 2017.

Children can also participate in workshops to learn about the world of software programming, offering great advantages when it comes to knowing in depth the other side of commonly used applications, in order to awaken their curiosity and allow them to evolve their capacity analytics.

Likewise, a gymkhana of Social Networks, an eSport Zone has been organized to play online with the best videogames, a 24-hour City Hall space and a secure internet area, in which computer experts will explain to interested parents the importance of security in the Tablet and Smartphone that your children handle, they will install and advise on security measures and they will check the smartphones and tablets of the interested Murcians.

Other activities organized is the exhibition and demonstration of High Security Power Systems and IT Communications

In addition, and as a novelty this year, eight talks have been scheduled in which experts will discuss topics of interest and current issues related to new technologies:
