The PSOE claims to the City Council that residents of districts can bathe in the municipal swimming pools from June 1 (15/05/2018)

The Socialist councilor Juan Vicente Larrosa has requested in writing that all the municipal facilities of summer be opened at the same time to end the discrimination suffered each year by the people residing in the districts with respect to those who do it in the city.

In addition, the PSOE will request that more and more accurate information be offered to users

When the heat tightens, and in Murcia it does so intensely, taking a bath is the best alternative, but it is not for all Murcia and Murcia, as those who live in districts must wait until the beginning of July to use the pools that the City Council manages in the municipality, all except Murcia Park, which is located next to the Malecon promenade.

For that reason from the PSOE it is demanded - it has done in writing to the councilman of Sports and Health, Felipe Coello - that all these sites open their doors on June 1, date scheduled for the inauguration of the summer season for the bath, but only in one of the 12 facilities that the Consistory makes available to the public for it.

"We must take into account the neighborhood demand in this regard and the one who lives in Alquerías or in El Raal, to name two locations, should have the same rights as the one that does it in the Gran Vía of the capital," he pointed out. edil Juan Vicente Larrosa, who recalled that last year was introduced as a novelty labonificación in the entry for people in unemployment situation with a 50% discount and free for their children, a measure that was adopted at the proposal of the Municipal Socialist Group in the Fiscal Ordinances.

In these ordinances it is ensured that the prices are maintained with respect to those of 2017 and that they were 2.35 euros at the entrance for children and young people between 4 and 17 years and 4.35 euros for users older than that age.

It should be remembered that Murcia Park last year remained open from June 1 to September 17, while the pools of Aljucer, Alquerías, El Raal, Espinardo, La Ñora, Rincón de Seca, Sangonera La Verde, Sangonera La Seca and Corvera began to receive bathers on July 1;

and those of El Palmary Puente Tocinoslo made the 11th of July, closing all of them on September 3rd.

What the City Council did in 2017 was to advance the opening of the pedestrian pools on weekends, specifically from June 10 and 11, but what the PSOE raises is that they are open uninterrupted since the beginning of that month.

The Socialists, in addition, demand that the City Council publicize the activity that will be developed in the swimming pools with posters in the own facilities in which there are dates, schedules and discounts, such as those that affect the unemployed and their families, since they are not properly advertised on the bulletin boards of these leisure infrastructures.

"We also request that an information campaign be carried out for the neighbors," Larrosa added.
