'La Hermana Muerte' is the title of the book presented this morning at the UCAM, Monsignor Vincenzo Paglia, president of the Pontifical Academy for Life and the Pontifical Theological Institute John Paul II.
Paglia stressed in his speech that the concept of death has been erased from the panorama of culture, and it is no longer spoken of.
The prelate has emphasized the "cultural campaign" that has been carried out around Euthanasia with the objective that the elderly themselves demand it.
He also stressed "the problem of loneliness in today's society due to the force that currently has the culture of individualism, fragmentation and lack of fraternity."
The event was also attended by José Luis Mendoza, president of the UCAM, who said that "at the Catholic University we are united to the Pope, we identify with him fully".
Mendoza also announced with Monsignor Paglia that the Catholic University will organize a congress with the Pontifical Academy for Life that will have as a theme the palliative care.
Worldwide dissemination of the Marriage and Family Sciences
Also in the context of this act, José Luis Mendoza recalled that the UCAM is working with the Pontifical Theological Institute John Paul II in the dissemination of the sciences of marriage and family taking this training to the most disadvantaged areas of the world through degrees in online mode.
Those who complete these studies obtain both the ecclesiastical title of the Pontifical Institute
as the civilian granted by the Catholic University.
Javier Belda, dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Religious Sciences of the UCAM, is coordinating these studies.
