The political groups in the opposition in the PSOE City Hall and Cambiemos Murcia today filed a complaint with the Nature Protection Service of the Civil Guard (Seprona) to investigate the installation of an explosives company in the Cordel de los Valencianos, via cattle that has been fenced and in which the passage is prevented.
Enrique Ayuso, councilor of the Socialist Party, and Nacho Tornel, spokesman for the municipal group of Cambiemos Murcia, have gone today to the Civil Guard Command to present the complaint for "a situation that seems illegality."
This route, which in its day was devoted to transhumance and crosses the municipality of Murcia along about five kilometers passing through the districts of Guadalupe and Javalí Viejo, "entails a very important historical memory and we must all continue to conserve it" , both councilors have indicated.
It is a property of public domain that can not be sold or seized and in which the company Explosivos Alaveses, SA (Expal) "has burst in completely occupying the space, several hundred meters of road, without the Administration , who has abandoned this place, has prevented it. "
Expal produces components for explosives and weapons and is a company linked to the Javalí Viejo Gunpowder Factory, which used to be state owned and belonging to the Army.
Its location in the Cordel de los Valencianos, besides cutting the pass, has caused detonations to be heard in this place.
Given these facts the PSOE and Cambiemos Murcia ask the Seprona to investigate this occupation and that the company "leave open the door that now closes the passage with a fence so that anyone who wants to continue their way to the Contraparada".
The aediles, who recalled that last year already raised to the Plenary Session of the City of Murcia a similar initiative on the Cañada Real de Torreagüera, has accused the Popular Party of "doing absolutely nothing for something that can have great recreational value, tourist, educational and environmental ".
"The Cordel de los Valencianos is part of the cultural and historical heritage of this Region and the Law contemplates its recreational use, it is a good that we have to recover for all Murcians, which has been occupied unnecessarily, since there is also enough space for the installation of that company, it is striking that Murcia is the European Capital of Cultural Heritage and we have to make this complaint ", they added.
PSOE and Cambiemos, which will take the case to the Plenary to be held on May 31, are willing to go to the Office of the Prosecutor to recover this part of a road called Vía Pecuaria of Puerto de la Cadena and that was used to graze with livestock from Cartagena to Aragón, a historical and cultural vestige that is seriously threatened as it passes through the municipality.
In its joint motion, the PP will be required to demand that the Autonomous Community, which is the competent authority in the matter, map the area, delimit it and set it apart to give it an adequate use.
