The Catholic University of Murcia has signed a collaboration agreement with Unibell, an Italian company that develops the 'Human Tecar' brand, with the aim of working together in the field of teaching and research.
With this rubric, the UCAM becomes the first university in Spain to work with the technology of this firm that has been used by high level athletes such as Usain Bolt or Marc Márquez.
Juan Martínez, vice-dean of the Degree in Physiotherapy, believes that this agreement is a great step for all the degrees of Physiotherapy (degree and master's degree) of the UCAM: "All the material that this company will contribute to the university will help us improve the practices of the students and the research works that are being developed ".
Mario Scerri, CEO of Unibell, was excited as he believes that this partnership opens a new path for physiotherapy: "It is a project that will make a huge change, we want to make physical therapy accessible to the greatest number of people. We have specialized in professional sports and now we want, through the University, to launch this project worldwide ".
The goal is to ensure that the resources and possibilities in physiotherapy that until now have only been available to the great athletes reach everyone: "We are a company that produces technology from an innovative point of view to work at the circulatory, neuromuscular and proprioceptive levels. This physiotherapy that was only available to high level athletes now, thanks to this agreement with the UCAM, we will see how we can take this technique to ordinary people.
