The municipal museums will offer more than 50 activities to celebrate the Day and the Night of the Museums (10/05/2018)

The five municipal museums (Almudí Palace, Ramón Gaya Museum, Museum of Science and Water, Espacio Molinos del Río, City Museum) have programmed more than 50 activities to celebrate the Day and Night of the Museums, which will take place the next 18 and 19 of May respectively.

Also participate in the six spaces dependent on the Ministry of Tourism and Culture (Archaeological Museums, Fine Arts, San Juan de Dios and Santa Clara, and the exhibition spaces Centro Párraga-Cendeac and Sala Verónicas), in addition to other institutions such as the Salzillo museums , The Cathedral, the University of Murcia, the Blood and the Museum Alfonso X El Sabio.

Guided tours, artistic performances, film, storytelling, concerts, and other initiatives make up the complete program that "aims to bring culture to Murcia, highlight the importance of museums in our society and sensitize the public that museums are spaces where knowledge is acquired, education and the integral development of people is encouraged ", explained the Councilor for Economic Promotion, Culture and European Programs, Jesús Pacheco.

The poster of this edition has been prepared by Nicolás de Maya, embodying the idea of ​​an 'M' as a museum door open to all society and space where knowledge is acquired that is color, and the representation of the game of the Day and the Night.

All municipal spaces will remain open on Saturday, May 19 until midnight.

One of the main novelties is that on Saturday, at 9.30 and 10.30 pm, the San Esteban site will host a novel audiovisual and theatrical show in which the history of Murcia and the archaeological remains of the urban fabric of the Arrabal de la Arrixaca.

Thus, it will be highlighted with a projection of lights the main streets and buildings that make up the site becoming a didactic show that will talk about the history of Murcia since its founding by Abderramán II with prominent figures of medieval Murcia as the Wolf King or Alfonso X the Wise

The Ramón Gaya Museum advances its special program to Wednesday 16th May, which will also be repeated on Thursday 17th, with the activity 'Painting glasses on the street' thanks to which, from 11am to 1pm and from 6pm to 8pm the artists Antonio Ballester, Nicolás de Maya, Manuel Delgado, A. Martínez Mengual, Manuel Pérez, Araceli Reverte, Katarzyna Rogowicz, Marcos Salvador Romera, Salvador Torres and Rubén Zambudio will paint in the Plaza de Santa Catalina.

At 7 pm there will be a concert of the VIII International Clarinet Seminar by Yehuda Gilad

On Friday at 12.30 the exhibition 'The Attraction of the Museum' will open.

(All the museums in the Museum) 'that will welcome the vision of different cultural spaces created by Murcian artists (Museum of the Cathedral: Martínez Cánovas, Molinos del Río: Nono García, Ramón Gaya Museum: Alfredo López, Salzillo Museum: Manuel Martínez Torres ; City Museum: Eva Mauricio, Science and Water Museum: Carlos Montero, Archaeological Museum: Hurtado Mena, Fine Arts Museum: Manolo Pardo, Santa Clara Museum: Cristóbal Pérez García, and the Museum of the Archconfraternity of the Blood: Antonio Wall).

At 8:30 p.m. there will be a concert of the Musical Association of Beniaján.

At the Museum of Science and Water you can attend different sessions of the children's planetarium and the 'Discover and imagine' room on May 18 and 19.

In addition, on Saturday will be held the First Congress of ADCMurcia Junior Disclosers, a film and robotics cycle and a night visit to the water room, among other activities.

On Friday the 18th, in Los Molinos del Río there will be a guided tour of the exhibition Albino by photographer Ana Palacios and a micro-theater show.

Also, from 12 to 14 hours, any visitor can tell anecdote stories for a maximum of 10 minutes on the museum and the neighborhood of El Carmen and throughout the day attendees can access the terrace to take pictures of the views of the city .

On Saturday 19, in this same space, of 20 1 22 hours, a mini photo studio will be installed so that the visitor is portrayed in this magical night, while from 23:30 the museum terrace will host the Hamsa Hamsa concert of the Murcia Three Cultures International Festival.

The Museum of the City during May 18 and 19 will give each visitor as a gift the catalog of the Museum's Collections.

In addition, on May 18, at 12 o'clock the new model of the Valley will be inaugurated and at 6:00 PM there will be a guided visit to the Permanent Collection.

On the Night of the Museums, from 9 pm, texts from the book 'Martínez Tornel' will be read.

Anthology 'by Manuel Muñoz Zielinski, and at 23 hours a guided visit to the permanent collection will take place.

The Palacio Almudí will offer, on Saturday, guided tours at 12, 13, 18 and 22 hours, a circus performance by La Chimenea Escénica, at 7:00 p.m., and a dance show at 8:00 p.m.

To this celebration of the Day of the Museums is added, in addition, the Pavilion 2 of the Artillery Barracks, which on Friday at 7:00 pm, will inaugurate three exhibitions: '4 artists 4 stages' by Salvador Torres, Virginia Bernal, Kraser and Belén Orta ;

'Veo, veo' by Noelia Fernández and 'Sacre Coeur' by Annie C.

There will also be a performance by DJ Cheeko, a contemporary dance show by Javi Marcos, and a group of illustrators (Balder, Chibi, Irene K and Noelia Fernández) drawing live.

One of the most innovative initiatives is the one organized in collaboration with Murcia Centro Comercial Area.

Different streets will host on Friday, at 6 pm, 'Arte en Vivo', a performance in which 'Picasso', Lichtenstein, Frida Kahlo, Miró, Modigliani, Mondrian ... will take part in a tour through the streets of the center and fixed points will be established in Alejandro Seiquer, Santa Clara Street, Aurora Street, Carlos III Street, Ángel Guirao Street, Calle Trapería and Calle Zarandona.

Among the activities organized jointly by all the museums, both municipal and regional, highlights the offering to the Illustrious Children of Murcia in the Plaza Santa Isabel on May 18, at 12 o'clock and the drawing and painting contest for children between 4 and 12 years and children with special educational needs, which will take place in the Plaza San Bartolomé and José Esteve on May 19 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

The participants, who will have to register previously in the museums, will be able to win didactic and educational material.

Subsequently, the works carried out by the youngest will be exhibited in the Museums of Fine Arts and in the Museum of the City.
