The spokesman for the municipal group of Cambiemos Murcia, Nacho Tornel, said today that the precautionary stoppage of firefighting competitions "is a consequence of the political decision of the Popular Party to dismantle the public" and the "contempt" with which it treats municipal service.
"We see it in educational centers, in health centers, in the pension system and also in the Emergency Service of the Fire and Rescue Extinction Service (SEIS) of Murcia, whose staff exceeds 50 years on average", Tornel has sustained.
The mayor explained that the paralysis of the process by the Court, regardless of the reasons, "is not the best news", although it is the result of "what the PP has been doing for 25 years, which is neglecting the backbone of this City Council, public personnel ".
He has drawn attention to the fact that "not even the extra hours" of the firemen "help cover the needs of the service", another example of the "precariousness" in a department "as sensitive" as is the case of the SIX .
"The decision not to care for and maintain the public workforce is a political criterion fed by the PP that involves playing with taxpayers' money, whose economic effort is not converted into a form of quality public services," he concluded.
