NOW MURCIA denounces that the mayor Ballesta continues to allow the façade of the Hotel Victoria "to be a horror due to the advertising signs, signs, luminous and awnings fixed on the outside of this protected building, in a manner contrary to the law."

Councilor Alicia Morales explains that in March 2016 some of these elements were removed after the complaint made months before by Now Murcia, "but other elements were not removed and continue more than 2 years later attacking the facade of this building protected from the helmet historical".

Faced with this situation, the municipal training has been addressed in writing to the municipal government and the Autonomous Community "to take action on this issue that affects the heritage and the image of the city and has an immediate solution."

The facade of the Hotel Victoria had become in the last years in a huge advertising poster, in spite of being protected by being part of the PECHA (Historical Artistic Set of Murcia), with its own file.

Article 9 of the Revised Text of the PECHA's Regulatory Ordinance of the Plan expressly prohibits temporary or permanent billboards and posters, and establishes that the presence of any sign, sign or grilles on the facade shall be integrated into its design, while the signs or Identification signs will be installed in the holes without protruding from the facade line.

This law also requires that the awnings and additional elements to the facade must be designed jointly and integrated to said façade.

"Therefore," Morales says, "the facades of the building do not yet conform to what is indicated in this article, which ruins this downtown and tourist area, as well as producing a sense of abandonment and neglect that worsens the presence of graffiti and graffiti. The PP must take measures in the historic center to make it an attractive place for tourists and that we feel proud all Murcia.
