National and international experts will share their vision and experience on 'The city as a dynamizer of cultural and creative economy' (06/05/2018)

The Circus Theater will host next Wednesday, May 9, the day 'Cities with Talent, New Urban Models.

The city as a promoter of the cultural and creative economy ', an initiative of the City of Murcia and Factoría Cultural, the only Spanish creative nursery member of the Leadership Group, European Creative Hubs Newtork, which coincides, both in date and in purpose, with the acts for the celebration of Europe Day 2018.

The objective of the conference is to participate in the reflection that the main concerns of European cities, especially in the case of small and medium-sized cities, is to define policies and find solutions to retain local talent and attract new and innovative initiatives that contribute to energize the cities.

Likewise, the exchange of experiences will be favored and the establishment of agreements and collaborations that contribute to finding a better and more proactive way of making a city based on innovative talent will be promoted.

The event consists of morning and afternoon sessions, which will analyze the relationship between the city and the creative and circular economies, as agents of change, for their ability to contribute to urban development and participation and promote employment, based on the added value and innovation on which representatives of the University of Deusto, the COTEC Foundation and the NESTA Foundation will speak.

In addition, results of the CITiTALENT research project will be presented, whose purpose is to analyze and stimulate talent attraction projects, innovation and creativity in the city of Madrid.

The research is funded by AEI and FEDER and is part of the URBINN coordinated research project.

Finally, a shared dynamic is programmed with the participation of representatives of cities belonging to the Network of Local Development Entities (REDEL).

The different models and municipal programs focused on the dynamization of the creative economy and its sustainability will be analyzed, emphasizing the need to establish exchanges and collaborations between the parties involved.

In the closing session there will be a tour of some of the initiatives presented, in support of economic development and understanding of the social role that culture plays in the establishment of an ecosystem in which innovative models proliferate in the set of creative economies and circulate.

The conference will involve various national and international speakers such as Carlos Baztán, Architect and Advisor in cultural management of institutions, public programs and urban regeneration;

Eliza Easton, Director of Research, Policy, Creative Economics and Data Analysis;

Francisco G. Bree, Academic Director of the Master in Business Innovation, University of Deusto;

Gemma Miralles, Content Manager of Segittur, State Society for the Management of Innovation and Tourism Technologies;

Guadalupe García, Expert in Circular Economy, COTEC, Foundation for innovation;

Hélène Morteau, University of Nantes;

María del Prado Porris, Technical Advisor, Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports of the Government of Spain;

Rosa de la Fuente, Complutense University of Madrid and Simón Sánchez-Moral, Full Professor of the Complutense University of Madrid.
