The Councilor for Education, Rafael Gómez, attended this morning to the final phase of the XXIX Contest of Road Safety and Prevention of Accidents, framed in the Road Education Program, coordinated by the Department of Education, Relations with Universities and Heritage and in collaboration with the Department of Traffic, Security and Citizen Protection, aimed at students of 3rd year of Compulsory Secondary Education (14 and 15 years) of the Municipality of Murcia.
The seven finalist centers have been the IES Licenciado Francisco Cáscales (with two groups represented), the IES Alquibla, the Cipriano Galea School, the Monteagudo Nelva School, the IES Juan Carlos I and the Santa Isabel School that have competed in a test of 30 test type questions
Finally, the winning team was composed of the students Guillermo Carmona, Lucía Fernández and Álvaro Liaño, of the IES Licenciado Francisco Cáscales, ahead of Carlos Iniesta, Javier Sánchez and Flavio Audisio, of the Monteagudo Nelva School, and of Claudia Adamo, Sofía López and Ariadna Micaela Orbe, from the Cipriano Galea School.
It is necessary to remember that during the first two phases 144 groups participated, which means an attendance of 432 students, who faced the realization of the theoretical test in test format, on traffic signs, norms and first aid.
Previously the police in charge of the Road Education Programs, made the diffusion by the Secondary Centers distributing the documentation of the Contest.
The dissemination was made among all the Secondary Schools, reaching 4,320 students, of whom 48 schools, 144 groups with a total of 432 students, expressed their intention to participate in the contest.
The specific objectives that they pursue with this activity are:
- Adopt habits of citizen awareness, referred to the circulation.
- Value the importance of respecting rules and traffic signs.
- Observe responsible conducts in the conduction of bicycles and mopeds, respecting norms and signals related to traffic.
- Know and identify the causes of the accident risk group between the ages of twelve and sixteen.
- Know and criticize the institutional campaigns related to the improvement of traffic safety.
- Adopt behaviors according to habits of prudence, with respect to the speed of the vehicles that are driven.
- Know and practice the first safety measures and first aid, in case of accident.
