The Socialist Municipal Group accuses the government team, the PP, of "discriminatory treatment" by not providing social property tax (IBI) to vulnerable families of the municipality while not punctually demanding payment to other administrations, specifically the regional and central.

In this regard, Councilman Sebastián Peñaranda claims to the PP that now that the deadline to pay the IBI and that the Consistory Murcia intends to raise 116.5 million euros in this campaign, should take advantage to charge the aforementioned administrations at the same time it demands the payment of the debt that drags for this tax.

Also, the mayor, who recalls that since 2015 the PSOE is requesting information on the debt that the administrations of the Autonomous Community and the State have contracted with the City of Murcia by the IBI, says that the Consistory "is not in a position to resign to no income or to forgive debts because there is a lot of deficits in transportation, in facilities and in districts that could be solved with the money that has been left to collect ".

Likewise, he explains that, "in the same way, we do not know the collection forecasts for this year either," so "with this uncertainty it is difficult to calculate the municipal revenues for 2018".

In addition, Peñaranda notes that there is a game for social IBI that amounts to 250,000 euros, "a requirement of the PSOE to support tax ordinances and budgets, aimed at helping families in situations of unemployment or with few resources, which have not been spent "

Therefore, he insists that "one can not be so inclement with citizens if the PP does not use the same yardstick with a good part of the taxpayers" and affirms that we will continue to ask about the debt, part of which will be prescribed, and for the listing of properties used by other administrations and susceptible to pay IBI.
