The squares, gardens and other enclaves of the city will become an explosion of rhythms, cultures and diverse sensibilities, combining art and tolerance, in the XIX edition of the Murcia Tres Culturas Festival, whose poster has been created by the artist Manuel Pérez

It is a festival that promotes the exchange between peoples, through its artistic manifestations.

Musicians, singers and dancers from different countries, such as Spain, Morocco, Tunisia, Greece, France, Venezuela, Israel, Belgium and Palestine, and cultures, will occupy the squares and streets of the city of Murcia, forming a great date with tolerance and the miscegenation, in which the coexistence of music of different styles and traditions is lived as a form of artistic and cultural enrichment.

The Department of Economic Promotion, Culture and European Programs has scheduled almost thirty activities that will take place from May 11 to 26 and whose objective is "to promote a meeting point between the peoples, over any political or religious difference, to The spirit of the Murcia Tres Culturas International Festival is to promote respect among different peoples through art, generate and promote solidarity and tolerance between different cultures, "explained Council Member Jesús Pacheco.

"The city of Murcia is a stage and a valuable example of the cultural enrichment that diversity implies, as well as a vehicle for spreading solidarity, dialogue, peace and respect." The Murcia Three Cultures International Festival has a special essence and artistic sensitivity in order to reconcile different ideas and beliefs in a great celebration of understanding and tolerance, "said Pacheco.

The music and dance programming of the XIX edition of the festival includes various activities aimed at the promotion of tolerance, coexistence and dialogue between artists of different cultural or religious origin without forgetting that thread, which is the Mediterranean, as a bridge of cultures.

The cultures of the different shores of the Mediterranean, spirituality and mysticism, proposals of coexistence and artistic dialogue between cultures and beliefs, the average age in Spain, the children's audience and the celebration of tolerance are present in the programming.

In this edition, will also remember the constitution of the Council of Murcia at the ceremony of delivery of the honors of favorite sons of Murcia that makes the City of Murcia, which will be present Jota Martinez and his memories of the work of King Alfonso X The wise.

Hamsa Hamsa, who through ancestral rhythms and melodies work in respect towards life and towards all cultures;

and Savina Yannatou & Primavera in Salónico, which connects the modal music of the East with the equivalent music of Western Europe, the music of the Middle Ages and the popular polyphonies of the Mediterranean.

Of a prominent role, as it can not be otherwise, enjoy the artistic proposals of Murcia artists and creators: the Ensemble Ecos de Sierra Espuña and the Gregorian Scholla de Murcia presenting a mass dedicated to the apostle Santiago, officiated at the Cathedral of Murcia towards the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries;

and the Old Chapel of Murcia with the program Sacred music of the Levantine Renaissance, both proposals product of an enormous and discreet work of investigation in the archives.

The program has a variety of styles and musical proposals such as Sephardic music, with Noam Vazana and Savina Yannatou;

and music with instruments represented in the Codices of Alfonso X El Sabio and the Spanish Middle Ages, Jota Martínez.

There are also artistic proposals aimed at children and family and those that make up the Festival for Tolerance or Festival of the Three Cultures that will take place on the last weekend and for more than twenty-four hours can be enjoyed through different types of proposals and in different parts of the city: the Murcian Puppetry Company Los Claveles tells the youngest that the important thing about people is not their physical aspect, nor their tastes, nor their way of thinking, but the respect they show to others;

the Balkanic fusion group La Trocamba Matanusca that will perform some morning parades;

and Fetén Fetén that will perform street performances and a family concert transmitting values about reuse, poverty, imagination and the importance of knowing our traditions using some of the most incredible instruments in the history of music.
