Development Cooperation collaborates in the expansion of a health center and laboratory areas in Mozambique (29/04/2018)

The Department of Social Rights and Development Cooperation of the City of Murcia, directed by Conchita Ruiz, collaborates with the expansion project of the laboratory area and the Nacuxa health center, located in the District of Mossuril, province of Nampula, Mozambique, driven by the Vincentian Cooperation for Development Association.

An initiative that was born to improve the training offer of laboratory technicians and health services to the population of the Matibane district, and that has a grant of more than 12,000 euros and 4,114 beneficiaries.

Of these, 114 are students of the Polytechnic Institute of Nacuxa enrolled in laboratory technicians, levels 3, 4, and 4,000 users of the health center.

Among the activities carried out, the construction of a laboratory area with dual purpose (pedagogical practices of laboratory technicians and community service from the Health Center), new equipment of the built area, teacher training, awareness raising talks population, as well as accompanying the student girls to strengthen their self-esteem.

Some works that have made it possible to improve the physical-pedagogical conditions in which the Laboratory Technicians in health practices are carried out, to increase the technical resources in laboratory matters and to improve the perception of the population, especially women, of the benefits of the training and health care sponsored by the Nacuxa Institute and health center.
