A new agreement to be concluded with the Integra will continue to spread the wealth of documents from the municipal archives.
Under this agreement, to execute the third phase of Crimson (catalog files in the Region of Murcia in the Information Society) which aims to digitize the Chapter Acts of the eighteenth century and magazines published in the Region of Murcia in the nineteenth century, preserved in the Municipal Archives of Murcia, to ensure its preservation and subsequent disclosure through the use of new digital and electronic technologies.
The project has already included Crimson, under agreements signed in 2005, 2006 and 2007, inventory, cataloging and digitizing all medieval documents kept in the archives of the Region of Murcia, as well as records chapter of the sixteenth and XVII.
Once digitized the project documents for 2010, will be transferred to the City of Murcia three copies, which will enhance the conservation of the originals and promote dissemination among researchers and interested individuals.
The Archivo General de la Region de Murcia keep two copies.
Murcia City Council is committed to facilitating access to municipal archive documents to efficiently perform scanning.
Also provide the necessary resources and appoint a representative to work technical coordination and monitoring of the project, especially the actions of delivery, transport and collection of documents that are the subject of this project.
