Official Gala I Ecological Festival of notches 'The Firefly Casting' (28/05/2010)

The film 'My grandmother Mary', by David Valero, has won first prize in the contest.

UCAM has held this afternoon the Official Gala Festival Ecological notches I 'The Firefly Fused', organized by the University in collaboration with the Department of Environment of the City of Murcia.

The awards ceremony of the Festival has been borne by the Councillor for Environment and Urban Quality of the City of Murcia, Adela Martinez-Cache, the dean of the School of Communication, and Vice President for International Relations and Communication, Pablo Blesa, and Director of Communication, José Luis Mendoza Garcia.

During the ceremony, there have been green cars, built by the Catholic University, who will participate in the next edition of the Solar Race Murcia.

The film 'My grandmother Mary', David Valero, was the winner of the Gala, to win the first prize consists of a trophy and one thousand euros.

In the spot, is seen as a grandmother and grandson of the sea to collect water, then remove the salt with the help of the sun, making it unfit for consumption.

The second prize of 500 euros and a trophy was awarded to the short film 'Still time to save', by Alberto Martin.

The third and final prize, worth EUR 250 plus trophy, went to the short film 'Little things', the work of Daniel Palazón, Ricardo Ibáñez and José R.

Amorós.

The jury, among others, film producer Jan Garcia, the dean of the School of Communication at the UCAM, Pablo Blesa, the Councillor for Environment and Urban Quality of the City of Murcia, Adela Martinez-Cache, and the director of film and advertising, Alberto Moreno, has made its decision based on the originality and ability to convey the message of respect to nature, and the technical and visual quality of the spot.

The event, entertained with live music, included the projection of images of selected works, and, as a surprise, the production of electric cars developed by UCAM in collaboration with IES 'The Palm' of Orihuela, who will participate in the next edition of the Solar Race Murcia.

Notably, the Festival is framed within the project 'UCAM in Green', which promotes sustainable actions for the preservation of the environment.

The Councillor for the Environment of the City of Murcia, Adela Martinez-Cacho, expressed his support for this project, and assured that within a short time students can get a bike to UCAM.
