The Museum of the City shows the seven most important Islamic sites in the municipality (20/05/2010)

The Murcia Tres Culturas Festival arrives at the Museum of the City.

In this eleventh edition has been chosen as the theme for the exhibition of archaeological sites of the Islamic city are preserved and remain today in view of everyone, whether on the street (Wall and Garden Veronicas San Esteban) in public places (restaurant Cuckoo, Adarve shops, café Rincón de Pepe) or in museum spaces visited (Museo de la Muralla de Santa Eulalia, Museo de San Juan de Dios and the Clark Museum.)

The main body of the exhibition will be composed of seven large works created for the occasion by seven artists, each of whom brings his own vision and painting technique to as many sites in the city.

The participating artists and their works are José Hurtado Mena (representing the site of the museum of San Juan de Dios), Joseph Burgess (the wall of the cafeteria Rincón de Pepe) Antonio Balibrea (the Museum of the whites), Manolo Pardo (bathrooms Cuckoo restaurant in Calle San Lorenzo), Paco Almagro (Wall of Verona), Antonio Sánchez (the site of St. Stephen) and Jesus SILVENT (the home of deposit Adarve shops along the street Silver).

The works, which the museum has published a catalog, will be presented accompanied by archaeological pieces from the collection of the Museo de la Ciudad, scientific documentation, photographs and other materials that contextualize the archaeological sites in the city.

This exhibition, which opens this evening at 20 pm and will remain open until August 27.
