The City has accelerated procedures, as promised by the Mayor, Miguel Ángel Cámara, so that today the Governing Board approve the payment of the bonus to users of the bus ticket, for the months of January, February and March this year.

This amount, which amounts to 2,442,230 euros, will take effect tomorrow, in order to avoid a strike, provided they accept Latbus workers in the Assembly to be held today the proposal made by the company.

Latbus raised yesterday to workers, with part of this amount, you agree to pay their workers 35% of payroll in March and the complete list of April.

We must remember that the City has made great efforts in recent years for Murcia to use the bus to pay a cheaper ticket, because in the past three years have invested more than 24.4 million euros.

Specifically, in 2009, the concessionaire of the service, Latbus, entered the municipal treasury EUR 8.9 million, of which 3 million were used to lower the ticket to the users of the lines of jurisdiction and 5.9 million passengers in the lines of the region.

Municipal aid are increasing each year and have risen more than 20% since 2007: 7.4 million then, 8.1 million in 2008 to 8.9 million last year.

This investment has ensured that both students and pensioners and large families have a cheaper public transport.
