A group of students in grades 5 and Primary 6 public school Narciso Yepes Murcia held today the first trip by train from the initiative "Learn Traveling 'regional government, which the students took their class to a railroad car and enjoyed a day of learning and conviviality.

The children, accompanied by two teachers, left for Cartagena from Murcia del Carmen Station at 9:40 pm and, after visiting the main cultural attractions of the port city, returning at 19:30.

During the trip, discovered the benefits of public transport, and guided by the book "Classroom on all cylinders', received notions of geography, history, math, vocabulary and artistic expression, with content related to rail transport.

The Minister of Public Works and Planning, José Ballesta, who also accompanied the 13 schoolchildren during the maiden voyage, explained that "the objective of this initiative, which is an enriching experience for children, is to promote and publicize the benefits of public transport in an educational and entertaining, so from a young to learn the advantages of rapid, safe, comfortable and friendly environment. "

In addition, answer a simple questionnaire about peoples travels and landscapes, mountains and hills that were visible through the window along the journey.

Finally, students complete a drawing of one of the island spotted during the trip.

In place of destination, the school conducted a cultural tour, which begins with a visit to the facilities of the Port of Cartagena.

After lunch visit the Roman Theatre in Cartagena, the Château de la Concepción, which enters via a panoramic lift and stroll through the historic center.

Participate in 'Learn Traveling'
