A total of 1800 participants was able to gather this morning Fun Run IV at the University of Murcia, a test that has managed to climb one of the top of the region in terms of number of athletes despite their poor track record.
Entertainers, dances and games were in the early hours of the day today to participants in the Espinardo Campus: Students at the University of Murcia, Administration and Services, and a large share of high school students and vocational training from many centers in the region, who have taken part in this race that has grown in participants every year since its inception in the spring of 2007.
All they had to cover a distance of 4500 meters around the Campus de Espinardo, being located the start and finish at the Monte Romero Athletics Stadium.
The best time was 14'03'', managed by Antonio Martinez, a student at the School of Sport Sciences, University of Murcia.
34 awards were handed out for the best riders from each category: individual and team.
The school with the best of times has been the IES Ricardo Ortega (Fuente Alamo), and the university community have been awarded the gold medal the PAS and PDI.
Special Award to school with greater involvement and animation has been for the IES Graduate Cascales (Murcia).
In addition there have been other special awards at the University Center with the largest share (Faculty of Education), the largest number of runners (Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology A) and another prize for the farthest school: The school José Luis Castillo Puche of Yecla.
The Vice Chancellor of University Extension, Francisco Guillermo Díaz Baños, present at the event, was grateful for the Sports Department at the University of Murcia, whose members he said, "have done, once again, an excellent job in organizing This event has already become a benchmark in popular sports in our region. "
