IU + LV de Murcia complaint quarries "illegal" in Javalí New (02/03/2010)

Councillor UI + LV in the city of Murcia, Esther Herguedas has reported today that two quarries mining and processing of aggregates located in the hamlet of New Javalí in operation although its activity is prohibited by the General Management Plan Urban (Plan).

At a news conference, noted that paths Herguedas quarries, called "François" and "The dark of the weave ', are in an Area of Nature Conservation and Forestry Applications, next to the Rambla Salada marsh, and 300 meters of urbanization "palms", home to 200 people.

He indicated that the facilities they operate for 10 years and quarrying, which has affected the landscape and the neighbors, who have made various complaints to the region and the municipality, not that it "has done nothing to solve the problem."

He assured that in the case of the quarry 'François', the council has not adopted any resolution from the opening of its record, in 1999, "while it has turned a blind eye to illegal activity," while that of 'The Dark de la Tejera' ordered to cease its activity although this is currently operational.

"The council has not taken measures to prevent the quarry continues to operate, and we are aware that penalties have been imposed and, moreover, is handling the administrative part to promote social statement of interest in activity to the Community ".

Herguedas has indicated that regional and local authorities have shown "great lack of coordination, and that when they receive a complaint from neighbors engaged in reports ordered and there remains the matter, while the quarries continue to develop their illegal activity."

It has also argued that this situation places the residents in a position of "helpless" because "they feel how the administration should defend their rights, mocking the law with legal proceedings", after saying it will "provide the means sufficient "to make a complaint to the Ombudsman of the Region.
