Public Works rehabilitate the facades of eight blocks of housing in the district of Santa Maria de Gracia de Murcia (15/12/2009)

The total investment by the IVS amounts to more than 4.7 million in 51 blocks home to more than 1,000 homes.

The managing director of the Institute for Housing and Land in the Region of Murcia (IVS), Jane Brown, today visited the area where they are located eight blocks in the district of Santa Maria de Gracia, in Murcia, where the regional government finances the rehabilitation of roofs and facades to improve their conditions and complete the proposed action to regenerate the area.

The rehabilitation of these eight blocks, housing 80 houses, complete regeneration project of this district and is within the agreement between the Department of Public Works and Planning, through the Institute of Housing and Lands (IVS) and the city of Murcia.

This, according to Brown, "is intended to improve public housing buildings in different parts of the city."

The IVS contributes 50 percent of the cost, 811,510 euros of this action and the rest is financed equally by the owners of the property and the Consistory.

This investment will allow the district to adopt a new unified image and promote energy efficiency through walls and roofs of last generation.

The director general said that "the IVS has invested a total of 4,763,869 euros in the fitting of 51 buildings of Santa Maria de Gracia and Vistabella included within the project, which house 1,094 public housing are being conducted since 2001 through successive agreements. "

In particular, the properties subject to the performance are the block 1 to 8, which will run a dive of the facades and apply a color layer mortar, as well as review and sanitation needs of the covers.

These eight buildings in addition to others about those already conducted similar work, as in the case of blocks C, D, E, L, K and 9 to 12.
