The City offers 15,000 new seats for sports (01/12/2009)

Launched a new activity for free Tai Chi on the weekends in the plaza of Santo Domingo

Forty new positions for the tennis school for children of Joseph Barnes

The Department of Sports City of Murcia offers 15,000 seats for sports from December 14.

4,000 of the vacancies are for facilities directly managed by the City (Prince of Asturias Sports Centre, swimming pool Mar Menor, swimming pool and facilities districts Infante) and 11,000 squares correspond to the municipal sports centers Fleet, JC1, and Aqualia Inacua .

To enroll in Fleet, JC1, Inacua or Aqualia, you must go directly to the plant.

The City of Murcia has a total of 44,000 seats for sports, with an occupancy rate of 70%.

A 54.63% of users of municipal water sports facilities, while 45.36% do indoor activities.

Citizens can choose between many different sports as the Sports Council, headed by Miguel Cascales, offers 103 different activities such as fitness (water and room), swimming, aerobics, water aerobics, cicloindoor, bodybuilding, fitness, ball, paddle tennis, pilates, GAP, etc..

The municipal facility that has is Inacua more places, with 10,337 seats, and 77% occupancy, while the fitness center with more employment is the fleet, with 8,220 seats, of which about 78.78% (6476 beds) is occupied.

JC1 has 3,733 seats, of which about 63.14% are employed and have Aqualia of 4,434 seats, with an occupancy rate of 54.72%.

Sports introduces several new features for users to practice more sports.

The Department headed by Miguel Cascales starts, from December 12, free classes in Tai Chi in the Plaza de Santo Domingo.

This activity will take place every weekend until the 30th of May, from 11 am to 12.30 pm on Saturdays and from 10 to 1130 hours on Sundays.

The activity is free and does not require registration to practice enough to join any group.

Persons wishing to perform this activity will have to carry shoes and comfortable clothes.

Tai Chi is a Chinese discipline recommended for people of all ages that allows the integrated development of body and mind providing personal balance, harmony and serenity.

This new activity will allow entire families to practice Tai Chi in Santo Domingo on weekends.

It is a discipline that improves flexibility and helps to reduce heart problems, hypertension, arthritis, sclerosis, depression, etc..

The Tai Chi outdoors, in parks and plazas, is part of the global movement for Physical Education and Sport for All, UNESCO promotes the World Health Organization and the International Olympic Committee with the aim of reducing rates sedentary and improve the quality of life of the population.

In addition, the City continues its free activity of Tai Chi outdoor park facilities Murcia.

This activity takes place from Monday to Friday in two shifts, 10 to 11.30 and from 11.30 to 13 hours.

Interested persons need not register, simply must be attached to any of the groups.

Another innovation offered by the City Council is the expansion of the tennis school for children, held at the Sports Joseph Barnes.

Due to high demand, Sports extends 40 seats, 10 hours more each week, for children 5 to 11 years.

These are two more turns and two more tracks.

This activity is at 100% occupancy.
