This morning at the headquarters of the Rector of the University of Murcia, the rector, José Antonio Cobacho, accompanied by members of the Steering Group, welcomed the group of students who were demonstrating against the implementation of curricula adapted to European Higher Education Area.
After hearing of new claims that had already been expressed in previous meetings, he reiterated that the executive arm of government over which he presides is handling the adaptation called "Bologna Process" in compliance with the mandates of the standards and uncompromising defense of nature of Public Service at the University of Murcia.
In response to requests of the protesters, he reminded them that in fulfilling its commitment as president, has convened a meeting of University Senate, which will be held on November 24, so that in the highest body representing the community university to discuss and decide, in democratic participation of all stakeholders involved in policy action taken.
Also, I recalled the commitment of the University of Murcia to offer a new edition of Pedagogical Aptitude Course (CAP) is committed to the students to arrange a meeting with the Minister of Education, the Director General of Universities and student representatives to address issues of implementation and, where appropriate, financing of official masters, and to hold a public debate on all these issues open to the entire university community.
