The University of Murcia will be on the Week of Science and Technology 2008 with various activities of scientific (05/11/2008)

As in previous years, the University of Murcia, through the Vice President for Research and the Vice President for University Extension, participates in the Week of Science and Technology, an event that takes place between 6 and 9 November, having as fundamental objective to bring the scientific world society.

Because the University of Murcia is the most important source for research in the region, its participation in this event encompasses a broad spectrum of activities whose primary objective to highlight the importance of science and technology and knowledge in general, to society.

Such activities have a strong participatory, fun and educational, including demonstrations, interesting exhibitions, scientific lectures, fun games, etc.

All are held at various booths and tents for this purpose located in the Botanical Garden of the Malecon.

Among the various activities include the Tent of Physical Recreation, space designed for students and teachers at all levels and entire family, enjoy live with physics, with a selection of physical experiences spectacular, entertaining and participatory through interactive modules attended by "The minstrels of Physics."

Another tent to Big Science, assemblies present large-scale size, for fun and learning with the operation and scientific principles and phenomena of everyday devices.

Among the many activities that can be found: view by giant optical assemblies (cameras, periscope, kaleidoscope, mirror systems, etc.) Games pulleys to lift a person's hand, balances modules for understanding the juggling tricks or show the science of large architectural structures ....; younger architects may become a bridge or riding a bow with large pieces of polystyrene, see a volcanic eruption and have fun with games inspired by mathematics.

Furthermore, in the booths set up at the Botanical Garden of the Malecon, the visitor will see in the Shed of the consequences of drug pharmacology of different drugs (nicotine, alcohol, cocaine, cannabis, etc.) In the brain and the rest of the body.

For its part, the Hut of Biology, may approach a rigorous, didactic and practical world of microorganisms, the use made of them men, and their influence on the planet Earth and its life forms.

A turn can be aware of the importance of Earth's magnetic field in the preservation of life and its role as a protective shield in the Physics Booth.

Also you can enjoy in the Shed of Physical Recreation, recreational physical experiences of small format that are designed to surprise, engage, motivate and bring physics to the general public in an entertaining way while rigorously.

Also in the Shed of Mathematics conducted activities that show the relationship of mathematics to daily life and presented demonstrations of some of the great mathematical theorems.

All with the aim of stimulating interest among young people in mathematics.

For its part, Booth Veterinary show a monographic exhibition, allowing visitors to learn and display the most salient features of the anatomy of the horse.

Anatomical parts exposed facilitate understanding of the function of some organs and diseases common in this species, lameness, colic, etc.
