The Ministry of Agriculture and Water, through the Instituto Murciano Agricultural Development and Food (Imide), and the University of Murcia will drive new areas of cooperation to develop joint projects in R + D + i in the agricultural sector, and "optimize the use of public resources, as highlighted today by the Minister of Agriculture, Antonio Cerda.
The counselor and the rector of that University, José Antonio Cobacho, today signed a framework agreement to develop scientific research, development, technology transfer, training and joint use of services.
The agreement provides for joint development of programs, projects and R + D + i and empowerment training of researchers and technicians.
According to Cerda, the partnership "will strengthen further the ties and increase the good relations between the two institutions, which subsequently result in specific agreements of collaboration in various research projects."
This agreement will be finalized in research in various fields, among which the use of water resources, improvement of irrigation and fertilization and desalination of brackish water for irrigation.
Also analyze the genetic improvement of horticultural species of regional interest, the integrated control of pests and diseases, feeding and management of the herds of sheep and goats, and food quality assurance and diversification of production of cheeses and wines of the region , among others.
The agreement also includes training of specialists and the dissemination of technological advances in agriculture, fisheries and environment.
