The Department of Sports City of Murcia, headed by Miguel Cascales, supports the promotion and dissemination of sporting activities by granting a subsidy of 51,000 euros to various sports entities.

The Consistory has strong partnerships with football clubs in the municipality with the aim of contributing to the promotion of soccer practice among youth in the municipality.

Collaboration with Murcia Deportivo Football Club has resulted in the participation of youth teams in Division de Honor and Territorial Preferred category.

The Sports Council renew the agreement with the club to maintain advocacy of grassroots sport and the various football teams in different competitions in youth football.

Under the agreement, Murcia Deportivo Football Club should work with the City Council in the promotion of sports, their equipment must be inserted in the City logo and organize friendly football matches.

The Consistory has also renewed the agreement it has with the Swimming Club Fuensanta with the aim of contributing to promoting the practice of swimming in the municipality.

It supports the conclusion of the swimming Fuensanta Trophy, which this year has reached its twenty-sixth edition, and brings together young talent from clubs in the municipality, the Region and the rest of the country.

Fuensanta Swimming Club is committed to spreading the practice of swimming among youth in the county, demonstrations in the activities of School Age Sports, participate in lectures and conferences within the school sport season.

Also, the club will include the logo of the Consistory in their equipment.

The Sports Council also supports the work of the Sports Association 'Click' Mountain Photography and who was to participate in the XXIX edition of the prestigious 'Lisbon-Dakar Rally', which was suspended in January.

This association took part in the alternative test called "Dakar CET series', held last April in the territory of Hungary and Romania.

By promoting such initiatives, the City contributes to bear the name of Murcia worldwide.
