Murcia City Council maintains its support for festivals and traditions of the municipality.
The Governing Board has given approval this morning to the granting of various subsidies, which in total amounted to 464,569 euros, to help other festive and cultural groups.
This amount is shared between the Sardine Association, the Federation of Associations of Moors and Christians, the Grupo de Coros y Danzas Francisco Salzillo, Vest and Trova Association, Murcia Dance Company, the Choral Society and the Coral Fernández Caballero Discantus.
Moreover, the Governing Board also approved a cooperation agreement with the Symphony Orchestra of Murcia by which the City will work with the activities of this group contributing the sum of 20,000 euros.
The Symphony Orchestra performed at least two performances throughout 2008, festivals and activities organized by the Culture Department.
