The Councillor for Youth and Development Cooperation, Rebeca Perez, held a meeting with EAPN (Network for Combating poverty and social exclusion in the Region of Murcia), to collaborate on a new project with youth participation where they can discuss, analyze and change their situation and needs.

Thus, it has had the participation of the European Program Projects Youth Council to develop this new project, which is funded by Erasmus Plus.

The main objective, said Rebeca Perez, is "getting people experiencing poverty and social exclusion to exercise their rights and duties."

Thus, he said the mayor, "is also easy to break their isolation and their situation."

To carry out this idea, they are developing several projects related to participation.

With this project, the City of Murcia, allows young people between 18 and 30 years old with fewer opportunities and socially vulnerable, finding channels for active participation in democratic life, through activities structured dialogue (meetings, conferences and consultations).

"This is to promote greater labor quality in the field of youth and bring these young European policy priorities on youth.

All this has to go hand participation, intercultural dialogue, social inclusion and solidarity, "said Rebeca Perez.

To perform this action, it will create a stable group of 6 young people in each regional network to participate in the design, content and methodology of the project.

They also will make inquiries to find out what their needs are.

These meetings, interviews and meetings will last until June 2016.

The next national meeting of young people, will be on June 17 in Madrid, which aims to analyze the territorial information and to share and evaluate progress in the structured dialogue meetings.

Thus, the city of Murcia encourages the participation of young people from all walks of life, the information and advice about their personal and professional development and promotes actions that ensure more young people from the municipality to the European reality.
