An exhibition showing at the University of Murcia genuine parts used in films such as "Star Wars," "Indiana Jones" or "Shark" (03/02/2016)

"Making Movies. A journey behind the scenes" is the title of the exhibition which opens tomorrow Thursday, February 4, at 20 pm in the Museum of the University of Murcia (Cartagena street).

Patricia Carr and Robert Watts, producers trilogies of Indiana Jones and Star Wars, along with Carlos Gil, Assistant Director of the trilogy of Indiana: Earlier, at 18.30 hours, a panel discussion which will involve will be held Jones and Ruben Jimenez as moderator.

The exhibition is curated by Ruben Jimenez Brinquis, which is the collector and owner of most of the objects shown in it.

Passionate about cinema, Ruben Jimenez has sought for years by everyone objects related to their favorite movies: the saga of "Star Wars" George Lucas;

the "Indiana Jones" by Steven Spielberg;

"Jaws," "Alien, the eighth passenger" ...

Some of the parts used in these shootings, and coveted by collectors around the world, may be seen in the Museum of the University of Murcia until February 5.

Ruben Jimenez in words, the sample constitutes "a unique opportunity to meet some of the details of how these legendary films made today and see some of the elements, props or costumes that helped in its development so that we saw as we have viewed".

The intention of the exhibition, says Ruben Jimenez is to show the public what is behind these successful movies: "People know the actors and directors, but ignores the effort that is enclosed behind lesser known but very important departments, as production, costumes, art departments ... The intention is to present all necessary to launch a film process. "

For this, each one of the pieces in the exhibition incorporate a thorough explanation of how and why they were used.

Among original slates, drawings, storyboards, screenplays and other objects, the exhibition includes 60 to 70 pieces, to which must be added about three hundred photographs taken behind the scenes where you can appreciate many of the pieces exposed.
