Professors of the University of Murcia studying a project to train unemployed youth in Ceuta (02/02/2016)

Find the reasons leading to young people with previous experience of failure and dropouts to resume their education is one of the objectives of the study the research group Equity and Inclusive Education at the University of Murcia (UMU) takes place in the City Ceuta.

The research, funded by the Institute of Studies Ceutíes, training also aims to identify those practices which are attractive in the eyes of young people so that they can resume their learning.

The study was conducted with students from the School of Construction, center funded by the City that combines training and integration of unemployed people at risk of exclusion.

UMU professor Antonio Portela Pruaño justifies the need for the project by the high number of young unemployed and low-skilled workers, which require training programs to help their employment.

In turn, these programs adds Portela, must meet adequate to genuinely involve students characteristics, allowing at the same time, the transition to working life and improving their personal and social situation.

After starting in late 2015 field work with group interviews they were recently conducted individual interviews with students.

The team in charge of the project, besides the quoted Portela, teachers of the University of Murcia José Miguel Nieto Cano, Maria Jesus Rodriguez and Ana Torres Soto Train up.
