Stables Students participating in a European program to explain how it influences the climate of each region in the diet (03/12/2015)

The Colegio Santa Isabel represents Spain in this initiative, which also involved centers in Poland, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Finland and Iceland.

The Mayor, José Ballesta, received this morning in the city representatives of schools in the latter four countries, visiting Murcia.

Explain how the climate and geography of each region of Europe influences the diet and eating habits is the goal of Erasmus Plus program in the school Santa Isabel, Stables participates with schools in Pszczyna (Poland), Brighouse ( UK), Autun (France), Nordheim (Germany), Ristijärvi (Finland) and Höpfn (Iceland).

The Mayor, José Ballesta, together with the Councillor for Education, University Relations and Heritage, Rafael Gomez, gave a reception at City Hall this morning to representatives of schools in the latter four countries, welcoming them to the city and encouraging them to take advantage of your stay in Murcia these days.

The project is titled "Tell Me Where you live, I'll tell you what you eat" (Tell me where you live and I'll tell you what you eat) and is divided into five phases.

In the first, students collected information on the weather, terrain, flora and fauna of the region of Murcia to finish making three instructional videos that explain these issues to other students in the project.

To do this have a website in which all countries share their work to later establish a forum to find out, based on their geographical and climatic peculiarities, which foods make up the diet of each country.

This would be because the second phase.

To develop the third phase students will take videos in which both interviews with farmers, ranchers, fishermen, visits to food companies and export food are collected.

Phases 4 and 5 are centered around the kitchen and have the ultimate goal of editing a book that brings together the traditional dishes of each region and its recipes.

The project also includes mobility of students and teachers to other partner countries.

One or two teachers from each school held 2 times a year transnational meetings in order to organize and evaluate the project.

At present, the teachers visit France, Finland, Germany and Iceland takes place, who has offered the mayor a reception.

Students also have the opportunity both to visit two partner countries and to host two others.
