The sport, star of the Congress of Psychology (20/04/2015)

It is becoming less strange the presence of psychologists in sport as a fundamental part of the work of a team or an athlete.

In addition to physical training, daily improvement in tactical and technical, psychological training of the athlete becomes fundamental to cope with competitions and training.

Therefore, the Catholic University San Antonio de Murcia focuses this week its V Congress of Psychology in sport as one of the most important branches of the discipline today.

The conference starts tomorrow Tuesday 21 with the opening ceremony at 16 am in the temple of the Monastery of Jeronimos.

Joaquín Díaz, psychologist linked to the Royal Spanish Volleyball Federation and professor of psychology at the National School of Coaching, will give the inaugural lecture entitled 'Psychological training of specialists in team sports.

Until Thursday 23 athletes, coaches and researchers will offer some key psychology in sports today.

This branch is very interesting for students and delegates attending the meetings because it is booming and is becoming an industry that is increasingly important in the labor market.

Participants in this conference include athletes like Carlos Cabezas, world champion basketball in 2006;

Brigitte Yague, Olympic silver medalist in taekwondo at London 2012;

or Marga Crespí, bronze in synchronized swimming at London 2012, which will tell their experiences in the competition and the importance of good psychological work in the harvested successes.

Coaches and researchers contribute, meanwhile, data to help understand where sport psychology today and clues as to how it can be the immediate future of this discipline is.
