Members of the university community can access services the carrier Latbus using for this the smart card of the University of Murcia, as he explained to the Governing Council of the educational institution the Vice Chancellor for Coordination and Internationalisation, Bernardo Cascales.
Cascales added that this new card application, which will benefit all members of the university community, will save money for users and greater operability, University of Murcia being the first that will feature this new service.
This collaboration with the carrier will be implemented through a cooperative agreement whose content has been approved by the Governing Council of the University.
The Vice Chancellor also stated that it will hold a competition of creativity, aimed at students, to choose the poster design that will look on buses in order to disseminate this service and at the same time contribute to the promotion of public transport.
The winning entry will be awarded a next generation Smartphone and a quarterly bonus Latbus transport, while the second prize will receive a quarterly bonus, and for this, applicants may submit their work until 31 December.
He also noted that through the Observatory of the Smart Card, which Banco Santander is involved, the use of this new application will be offered to other universities.
