"The basic principle of contemporary citizenship is that in the political community all subjects who have the status of citizens are equal before the law regardless of gender, race, residence, religion or origin. Citizenship thus appears as an expression of human dignity that gives autonomy and self-determination to create, along with others, harmonious coexistence ".
