Professor of Botany at the University of Murcia Juan Guerra Montes and his research group are responsible for the publication of the last volume, number 5, of the work bryophyte Flora Ibérica, scientific and editorial project since 1998 studying the bryophyte diversity Iberian Peninsula and Balearic Islands.
The project, promoted by the Spanish Society of Briología and subsidized by the Government of Spain, covers all aspects (chorologic, ecological, taxonomic, systematic, etc.) to edit a flora.
In addition, to identify and understand the fundamental aspects of taxa, and includes a complete iconography of all species, with the most relevant characters for easy identification.
The editorial plan bryophyte Flora Ibérica, coordinated by Juan Guerra and professor at the Autonomous University of Barcelona Rosa María Cros i Mata, comprising six volumes that compendiarán all species of mosses territory.
