Affiliates and supporters elect the first half of the list of Murcia IU-Greens in open primaries (11/12/2014)

Members and supporters of Murcia IU-Greens will elect the candidate for mayor of the city of Murcia and the people who occupy the five positions of the list in an open primary process that starts today.

This has been explained in a press conference the local coordinator of training, Francisco Muñoz, who has indicated that, regardless of who compose the final list, this will zip and shall comprise at least 20 percent of young members.

In the process may involve both militancy as those who are over 16 years old and enroll as supporters via the web UI-Green or filling a tab at the regional headquarters of this organization.

The candidate or candidates head of the list or the following five positions may be members or supporters, and have from December 15 to January 5 to submit their guarantees, whose number varies depending on whether it is postulated to the top of the list or no.

The method of voting for the head of the list will be the majority, while for the rest a multiple choice, in which voters will have to assign numbers from 1 to 5 to designate their preferred candidates for the second positions will continue, third, fourth, fifth and sixth.

According to this methodology, candidates or candidates are ranked according to the preferences of each elector, giving the count a score in the order: ten points for second place;

seven for the third;

five for the fourth;

three for the fifth and one for sixth.

The six candidates will submit the proposal IU-Greens in the municipality of Murcia elementary carried out in case there is a space of convergence with other political, social and trade union forces.

From January 7th to 16th of this month will take place on electronic voting, and 17 classroom vote will take place at the regional headquarters of IU-Greens and the proclamation of the final list.

So far there are 530 members and 160 members and the organization expects that at the end of the process have exercised their vote over 1,300 people.

Muñoz pointed out that this is a "democratic and participatory" process, and stressed the "great expectations" that has on the outcome of local elections next year, in which the goal of IU-Green is "flush into PP City of Murcia ".
