Children put their imagination to achieve even more sustainable city (09/12/2014)

The Mayor awards prizes to the winners of the "clean Murcia 2015", which has received more than 10,000 sheets submitted by students in 142 schools.

Have courage and give recycling !, we all have to work together to keep the city clean because all of the Murcia clean argue that we deserve are some of the messages of work.

These awards are part of the awareness campaign last year came to more than 4,000 children per treatment center Cañada Hermosa, in which 8,000 students attended lectures on recycling and environment

10,357 students have submitted sheets of 142 schools in the municipality to the contest "Murcia Clean" that each year attracts the City and the concessionaire of street cleaning and waste collection, Cespa Urban Services Murcia (Ferrovial Servicios).

The event highlights the wide participation of participating schools and works presented by children, this edition has broken a record.

Never before had registered many pictures with ideas and suggestions from students about how they claim is possible to get everybody deposit trash in the container and paper in paper, achieving a cleaner city and respectful of the environment.

The winners were protagonists of the ceremony held this morning at the Plenary Hall of the City Council, which has received the Mayor, Miguel Angel House, responsible for street cleaning and waste management, José Ros, and the Councillor for Education Lola Sanchez, besides the CEO of Cespa, Antonio Igualada.

The competition is aimed at students from 3rd to 6th grade, aged between 8 and 12 years.

As every year, the papers will be presented at the Glorieta -from 15 to 20 December- and 13 winners have been used to compile the 2015 calendar of the Department of street cleaning and waste management, led by José Ros.

The school competition was launched for the first time in 1995 and since then has not stopped growing participation of schools and students.

The "Murcia Clean" contest ends the school campaign that develops throughout the year by organizing lectures in schools, where in 2013 8.286 4th and 5th grade students participated more primary a hundred schools.

The fundamental objective of the program is to seek awareness and sensitization of schoolchildren in matters related to urban sanitation, waste recycling and the environment.

The campaign in schools has led to the classroom lectures to learn to recycle from home and to know the city cleaning, waste collection and guidelines to help with this task.

The activity is completed with a visit to the Center for Urban Waste Treatment for "in situ" responsible and respectful management of waste.

Last year 4,127 children moved to Cañada Hermosa for the process of valuation of approximately 500,000 tonnes of waste generated each year Murcia.
