Genetic relationships between personality and psychopathology, in a lecture at the University of Murcia (09/10/2014)

The psychologist cartagenera Colodro Lucia Conde, Berghofer QIMR researcher at the Medical Research Institute (Brisbane, Australia), held tomorrow, Friday, October 10, at the University of Murcia, the conference entitled "genetic risk profile and psychopathology" .

Colodro, PhD from the University of Murcia, described in his talk analysis techniques used in studies of human genome, which can identify genetic variants associated with disorders such as depression, schizophrenia or bipolar disorder.

Furthermore, these techniques go one step further and allow the calculation of genetic risk that a person has to present these changes and their relationship to other traits or phenotypes.

The lecturer will explain the techniques for calculating the genetic risk profile and its application to the genetic relationships between personality and psychopathology, specifically between neuroticism and major depression.

The talk will take place in the hall of degrees of the Faculty of Psychology, Campus Espinardo, at 12:30.
