The president of the San Antonio Catholic University of Murcia, José Luis Mendoza, was honored last night in Madrid for the contribution of this educational institution to reforestation Valley of Megiddo in Israel, where it has financed the planting of 12,000 trees in memory of the twelve tribes of Israel and to be named the "Forest of UCAM."
The distinction was awarded during the tribute organized by the Juan de Borbon Spain-Israel the Jewish National Fund KKL Foundation.
The event, held at the Ritz Hotel, was attended by among others, the interior ministers of Spain, Jorge Fernández Díaz, and Israel, Gideon Saar, the prefect of the Congregation for Divine Worship, Cardinal Antonio Cañizares, the attorney general Spanish State, Dulce Torres, the president of the Fundación Juan de Borbon Spain-Israel, Sadia Cohen, global president of KKL, Elijah and Rabbi Abraham Lalo Skorka.
In the course of it, the latter imposed Medal Honorary Chairman of KKL, Sadia Cohen.
Significantly, the UCAM has conducted several activities in collaboration with the Jewish people and was holding the 'Sephardic Cultural Week.
