ANECA evaluates the UCAM in the first voluntary accreditation process (19/02/2014)

The UCAM this week participated voluntarily in the national pilot accreditation (PROVE) program of the National Agency for Quality Assessment and Accreditation (ANECA), a new project estimation degrees which is currently in its pilot phase and for which he had the cooperation of the Catholic University, which brought you five degrees and a master's degree.

Miguel Angel Galindo, national coordinator of the Assessment Unit Teachings and Institutions Agency, stressed that "aid has been very well to test the best program possible."

"We presented three titles with tradition, born with the university as undergraduate, that have grown and have become degree," said Josefina Garcia, rector of UCAM.

"We were born in their day having a duration of four years, incorporating practices, with limit switch jobs and methodologies that currently requires Bologna".

Moreover, during the evaluation, ANECA sought opinions of this faculty and students held a meeting with senior journalists, representatives of various media in the Region of Murcia.

"I think it's good for everyone to collect information from teachers, students and all groups related," said Miguel Angel Galindo.

"We are interested in the perception of everyone who is directly or indirectly related to the title."

Meanwhile, both José Antonio Mingolarra Committee Chairman ANECA Accreditation, as Ana Maria Hidalgo, General Coordinator of the Board, highlighted the perceived affection during his visit, and the collaboration of the entire university community.

Manuel Ruiz, director of Quality of UCAM also noted that "it was a very complex process but rewarding time in which is reflected the quality work they have been developing for years all areas."

Ana Maria Hidalgo also noted that the Catholic University "is the only part with two panels," that is, with college degrees in two different branches: social and legal sciences, and health sciences.

So, this pilot program in the UCAM consist of two phases.

The first degrees in Journalism, Advertising and Public Relations and Communication with data and insights gained during the visit this week will be valued.

Subsequently, a second committee of experts will assess the degree in Human Nutrition and Dietetics, and Science and Food Technology and the Master's Degree in Clinical Nutrition.
