The Masters Swimming Club Murcia, in collaboration with the Department of Sports and the Environment, organized a charity swim in the river Segura occasion of Christmas Eve.
On Tuesday, December 24, from 12 noon, twenty swimmers dressed in Father Christmas made a tour of the river.
The activity is open to people who want to participate by joining the club website, www.cnmastermurcia.com.
Participants must be dressed in red with Santa hat, and may use pool locker Park Murcia.
People who join this initiative must provide food or financial assistance in order to purchase goods for needy families.
This activity aims to promote the Segura river for swimming practice outdoors all year; highlight the healthy, social and fun aspect of the practice of swimming and water activities in the natural environment, and a number of families to be benefited by donating food.
Moreover, the goal is to consolidate over time and is held every year.
Alana Aventuras, the Lifesaving Federation of the Region of Murcia, IFUR (Research and Education in Emergencies) and Athlete 10 also collaborate in this activity.
AMUSAL, the Association of social economy enterprises in the Region of Murcia, appeals to social economy enterprises to collaborate.
The financial donations can be made to AMUSAL, or by hand delivery to the Food Bank of Segura Espinardo referring to Father Christmas bath in the river Segura, as charitable initiative.
