Places of supplies and El Carmen Saavedra Fajardo will be more accessible.
The City Council will start work soon at the two facilities to modernize, remove architectural barriers and improve accessibility.
Councilmember Equality Policy and Development Cooperation, Alicia Barquero, and the Councillor for Employment, Trade and Business, José María Tortosa, have held a meeting with officials of ASPAYM, FAMDIF and ONCE, representatives of the company that will perform the reforms of the squares of supplies; presidents markets, architects of the Technical Office of the City, and Head of Consumer Markets and Places of Supplies Murcia City Council to review projects and make suggestions.
The works to be performed include:
-Reform Marketplace main lobby of El Carmen.
Accessibility will be improved with the installation of an approved handicapped accessible and vertical lift.
The planned investment is EUR 60,200.
-Reform the main market access Saavedra Fajardo.
Installing automatic sliding glass doors and matching earrings and pavement ramps for accessibility and safety in use by citizens.
The budget is 254,500 euros.
These actions are part of the plan of the Department of Employment, Trade and Enterprise to strengthen and revitalize the commercial sector, with specific actions in Parking Supplies.
