"We are particularly interested in the transfer of results about issues that impact on improvements to society" and has emphasized the rector of the UCAM, Josefina García Lozano, during the presentation of the Chair 'Food for Health' which will coordinate the University Murcia Catholic and CSIC and took place this morning on campus.
This chair is designed to create together (UCAM-CSIC) degree programs, graduate and Ph.D. in the areas of nutrition and food security, pharmacy and medicine, among others, as well as conducting research and teaching practices for students.
During the presentation of the same, the university president, Jose Luis Mendoza, stressed that the creation of these international professorships is a new model in Spain and emphasized that since there have been significant results in this area.
Mendoza also emphasized that "such research will be published in journals of high relevance."
Vice President of Institutional Relations Organization CSIC, José Ramón Urquijo, said that "it is essential to produce important scientific results and training of people entering the labor market in the field of industry or sector companies."
Furthermore, he assured that this chair is a way to expand the scientific activity of the Institute, its creation is a singular fact, and it is a new way to explore new partnerships that provide research results that are beneficial to both institutions " .
With the signing of this chair UCAM continues to increase its focus on research, an area considered one of the
pillars of this institution.
The presentation was also attended CEBAS director Juan José Alarcón, the delegate CSIC in Murcia, Carlos García Izquierdo and the rector of research at the Catholic Nuñez Estrella.
