The Mayor, Miguel Angel House, has approached the president of Renfe, Julio Gómez-Pomar, in order to hold a meeting to discuss the problem emerged with the announcement of the company to limit the admission of bike on trains.
House, who also chairs the Network of Cities for Bicycle, defends the possibility that cyclists can carry their vehicles in the cars because it is an important tool to promote intermodality and responsible mobility, sustainable, environmentally friendly and committed to the fight against climate change.
In this sense, the Mayor believes that the announcement of Renfe to restrict access to only folding bikes, which are considered hand luggage or users to use rental systems established by some cities do not seem definitive solutions.
