Chillida Robles Foundation has given in Caravaca de la Cruz the awards he has intended to support the work of researchers at the University of Murcia.
The Foundation, which is named after Elias Manuel Robles caravaqueño pharmacist Chillida, who donated his estate to initiatives that promote health and wellness citizen fund a research project, international mobility aid and two doctoral theses awards.
The award-winning research project is led by Professor Vicente Vicente Garcia and focuses on the study of inequality in antritombina functional values, anticoagulant whose failure may increase the risk of thrombosis.
With a budget of 20,000 euros, the award will help develop new methods of diagnosing these disorders.
Meanwhile, Lorena Fernández Palacios has won the award for international mobility, which will be supported with $ 4,000 to work in the department of Food Science of Porto Alegre in Brazil.
There, develop nutritional assessment work to identify the occurrence of diseases in infants, as well as possible differences in the state of maternal and child health in different countries.
Similarly, two awards have been awarded to doctoral theses on Health Sciences held in 2012 at the University of Murcia.
The grand prize winner was Tvarijonaviciute Asta, who will receive $ 3,000 for his contributions to the study of the mechanisms by which obesity occurs and the diseases associated with it in small animals.
Beatriz Otalora bathroom, second prize in this competition, you will get 2,000 euros for the analysis of pathologies characterized by altered human biological rhythms in a rodent model.
The event was attended by the president of the University of Murcia, José Antonio Cobacho, the mayor of Caravaca, Domingo Aranda, the president of the Foundation, Amador Lopez, and the executor of it, Amalia Martin.
