The Assembly unanimously approved to obtain a declaration as a World Heritage Site for the sculptural group Salzillo (25/09/2013)

The Plenum of the Regional Assembly of Murcia this morning unanimously approved a motion urging the regional government to initiate the necessary administrative procedures for the sculpture of Francisco Salzillo, prepared for the Friday morning of Murcia, it tangible and intangible Heritage of Humanity as a whole.

Following the debate, the regional deputies have posed with the drivers of this initiative, representatives of the Brotherhood of Our Father Jesus of Nazareth, in the Courtyard of the municipalities of the Assembly with exposure set by the photographs of Charles Moses on the set of the work of Salzillo .

Pictured are family members also participated Salzillo Museum Board and staff of the Assembly, which are themselves Nazarenes butlers and the Brotherhood of Our Father Jesus Nazarene.

The exhibition in the Courtyard of the municipalities of the Assembly coincided with the parliamentary debate on the motion that urged the declaration of World Heritage for procesionado Salzillo sculpture on the morning of Good Friday, Murcia.

Similar initiatives have already been made in the Assembly on the occasion of the declaration of Intangible Heritage of Humanity on the Feast of the Wine Horses Caravaca de la Cruz or the art of embroidery in Lorca as Well as a matter deInterés Intangible Cultural and Heritage Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

The sculpture consists claimed "by masterpieces of art history, recognized for their technical perfection and idealized naturalism and endowed with a genius that makes them unique in its kind", as argued in the preface to the original motion , in addition to "be classified as cultural goods according to the Spanish legislation on heritage, and can be seen in the Museum of Murcia Salzillo.

The exhibition will remain in the Regional Assembly of Murcia until October 10 and can be visited from Monday to Friday from 10.00 to 14.00 hours.
