More than 500 people have gathered this morning at the Plaza Belluga to respond to the call to participate in a healthy journey along the Paseo del Malecon.
The initiative, part of the activities covered by Heart Week, was attended by the Mayor, Miguel Angel House, the president of the Murcia Society of Cardiology, Domingo Pascual, and the Councillor for Social Welfare and Health, Maria del Carmen Pelegrin, plus cyclists Alejandro Valverde and José Joaquín Rojas.
Under the slogan "For a Happy Heart", are being carried out different activities and workshops until Friday in order to raise awareness about the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
Among the programs organized by the Department of Health for this purpose include the promotion of physical exercise and, among them, the program 4/40, consisting of the creation of groups of citizens protected by a monitor for physical exercise (walking 4 days / 40 minutes) in their immediate environment (neighborhood or hamlet).
They are currently running 12 groups (three in the urban districts and 9) with the participation of nearly 1,000 people / day.
Many of its participants have come today to Plaza Belluga.
Heart Week continues tomorrow with heart-healthy cooking workshop and Thursday and Friday, tests measuring cardiovascular risk free (tension control, measurement of body mass index, etc..) And a CPR workshop.
Heart Week will end on Friday with the conclusion of a panel discussion on prevention actors.
