The UCAM San Antonio Catholic University of Murcia has signed a partnership agreement with the company Murcia Energy Lab Idea and Vodafone Spain, to develop a pilot project on energy audit of the campus environment UCAM.

The initiative is part of the activities framed by the university in the macro 'UCAM in Green', which represents the firm commitment of the Catholic University for the preservation of the environment.

The project is implemented through the Smart Jumper technological solution, developed by Energy Lab, and that Vodafone provides connectivity through telecommunications, and to develop an energy audit of certain areas of the campus, as well as allow to test the energy saving capacity in the university context, making use of the technology.

It should be noted that Smart Jumper, is to inform, monitor and intelligently execute electrical installations using communications systems WIFI, 3G, GPS and radio own system to get as much information and maximizing energy savings.

The agreement was signed by the president of the UCAM, Jose Luis Mendoza, by General Manager of Energy Idea Lab, Daniel Martinez Sanchez, and the Regional Director Enterprise Business Unit at Vodafone, Jesus Angel Suso Lazarus.

The Dean of Engineering degree in Telecommunications Systems UCAM, Rafael Melendreras, said that this project is the confirmation that UCAM Green continues to progress, and is also a UCAM bet on clean energy and raise awareness.

Daniel Martinez has said that "we have installed at the University teams that will be taking steps, and once you take these corrective measures, will begin to act, and all that information will be collected on a web".

For his part, Jesus Suso has highlighted his company's commitment to innovation.

"This project covers the most relevant two legs we have today: on the one hand are the cloud services, and secondly, connectivity, and thanks to Vodafone is possible connectedness of cloud services," he says.
